DONOVAN WANTS MORE MLS-LIGA MX GAMES

Former LA Galaxy forward, Landon Donovan has expressed his opinion the possibility of introducing more MLS-Liga MX games.

Donovan said he is of the opinion that a potential North American league that features football clubs from both the United States and Mexico would be of great benefits for the sport in both countries.

Interview With Landon Donovan On World Cup 2018

Landon Donovan has played thrice in World Cups for USMNT (U.S. Men’s National Team) and had a fantastic career in the club for almost 2 decades in 4 countries. He was the winner of 6 MLS Cups and earned several other accolades. He continues playing soccer as a Club Leon’s member in Liga MX after his retirement as USMNT member. During an interview with Donovan, he was asked a few questions and the same has been discussed below.

His first thoughts on World Cup 2018 were asked upon which he said that the World Cup is different for him mainly due to two factors. The first one is that this time U.S is not there which he is not too happy about as it has always been there in the World Cup. And secondly, it is for the first time after 1998 that he had an opportunity to watch the World Cup match like a fan instead of a player.

LA GALAXY CONTINUE BRILLIANT RUN

San Jose Earthquakes hosted Los Angeles Galaxy at the Stanford Stadium weeks back and the fans were surely treated to an enthralling game. Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic grabbed a brace but Chris Wondolowskireturned the favourin as many times. Roman Alessandriniand ValeriQazaishvili were also on the score sheet.

Ibrahimovic took his tally to nine goals with the brace since moving to the MLS in March. Wondolowski, on the other hand, moved closer to breaking London Donovan’s record. The 35-year old tsar has netted 140 times in the MLS – meaning he is five goals away from Donovan’s record.

Donovan Revealed Leon Pushed For Him

US soccer legend Landon Donovan shocked many when he opted to return to the game despite announcing his retirement after leaving Los Angeles Galaxy. He returned in January to join a Mexican top flight team Leon. He agreed to play for them until the end of the current season.

Recently the player gave an interview explaining how Leon were able to get him to overturn his retirement plans. He explained that he was at home and was happy with retirement when his agent called him. Richard Motzkin asked if he wanted to remotely return to the game but he straight out denied. Keep Reading

KAILNG JOINS SWANSEA CITY OWNERS

Mindy Kaling has joined the Swansea City ownership, alongside 26 others. The American Consortium led by Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien bought 68% stake in the football club in 2016. Aside the duo, other investors include filmmaker and owner of Los Angeles Rams Chip Rosenbloom, Kevin Knight, Michael Harmon, Cliff Singer and Steven Yi.

When the takeover was completed in 2017, the list of investors was not in the open but BBC Wales now have the full list of names. The investors got the Premier League outfit for £75 million, meaning they have 68 percent controlling stake.
